Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a candidate to join our diverse team of engineers, system administrators, and operators as a Principal Cyber Systems Administrator or Senior Principal Cyber Systems Administration professional in Chantilly, VA. The successful candidate will be expected to monitor, maintain, and provide Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 support of a mission‑critical network infrastructure, collect data for analysis, perform network upgrades, and produce documentation and diagrams of the work performed.

The role requires a fast‑paced, quick‑response environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and strong communication and collaboration across technical teams.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering and administrative support onsite for a team of developers and testers, deviating from industry standard procedures as necessary while maintaining system security standards.
  • Work as part of a team to design, build, and maintain AWS and hybrid‑cloud systems.
  • Administer Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot IP networking systems for AWS and hybrid‑cloud environments.
  • Automate system deployment, operation, and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tooling.
Principal Cyber Systems Administrator Basic Qualifications
  • US citizen with an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility; ability to obtain a Poly.
  • 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree (or 3 years with a master’s or 1 year with a PhD, 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • IAT‑2 certification (e.g., COMPTIA Security+).
  • Experience designing, deploying, and administering cloud‑based solutions.
  • Experience architecting, maintaining, and administering Linux and Windows operating systems in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience automating tasks (Ansible, Bash, Power Shell, Puppet, or Python).
  • Proven experience in IT systems design, deployment, and administration.
Senior Principal Cyber Systems Administrator Basic Qualifications
  • US citizen with an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility; ability to obtain a Poly.
  • 8 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree (or 6 years with a master’s or 4 years with a PhD; 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • IAT‑2 certification (e.g., COMPTIA Security+).
  • Experience designing, deploying, and administering cloud‑based solutions.
  • Experience architecting, maintaining, and administering Linux and Windows operating systems in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience automating tasks (Ansible, Bash, Power Shell, Puppet, or Python).
  • Proven experience in IT systems design, deployment, and administration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with current Poly.
  • Cloud service certification (AWS, Azure, Google, or similar).
  • Experience with one or more programming languages.
  • Extensive experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting IPv4 networking, including sub‑netting, OSPF routing, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Recent roles in technical or team‑leadership positions.
  • Knowledge of cloud database management (MySQL RDS, Postgre

    SQL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity in the context of the cloud.
  • Comfortable working in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience managing and manipulating containers (PODMAN, Docker, Kubernetes).
