Functional Analyst III - Rail Division
King County Metro Transit’s Rail Division seeks a detail‑oriented Functional Analyst III who will lead the creation of new Power BI reports, monitor and validate existing reports, support monthly business reviews with the Rail Division and Sound Transit, contribute to process‑automation efforts, and respond to ad‑hoc data and report requests.
Reporting to the Data and Analytics Manager in the Performance Strategy Team, the role will play a critical part in fostering a data‑informed culture in the Rail Division by leveraging new and existing data and technology, partnering with staff across Operations, Maintenance, Strategy, and Administration units, and collaborating with Metro and Sound Transit data and BI teams.
Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and deployment of Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Monitor and validate report accuracy and performance.
- Support monthly business reviews with the Rail Division and Sound Transit.
- Contribute to process‑automation and workflow improvement initiatives.
- Respond to ad‑hoc data and reporting requests.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and ensure data integrity.
The Performance Strategy Team contains three functional areas:
Data, Analytics & Technology Services;
Priority Project Management; and Continuous Improvement. The Functional Analyst III works closely with these units and external partners.
This position is open to King County employees and the general public. King County employees applying under the Special Employment Appointment (SDA) program must have completed six months of probation in their current career service position (or complete it by the closing date).
