Sr. Operations Technology System Administrator

Position Description

Avangrid Power is seeking a Sr. OT System Administrator to design, implement, and support the Operational Technology (OT) Infrastructure and associated applications, focusing on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity initiatives.

• Create and support a stable network and server environment.
• Collaborate with the application support team to provide robust OT infrastructure.
• Coordinate and manage tasks to ensure business success of the application environment.
• Configure and deploy ESXi clusters.
• Configure and manage Windows Servers according to audit requirements.
• Design, implement, and maintain information security aligned with NERC CIP regulations.
• Perform best practices for server stability, patching, backups, testing, and development.
• Manage SAN/NAS storage across multiple devices and protocols.
• Maintain core vendor relationships.
• Work closely with technical and non‑technical staff to build a resilient, highly available infrastructure.
• Provide light DBA support for SQL environments.
• Adhere to effective internal controls.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of Windows system administration or equivalent certifications.
• 5+ years of Microsoft Active Directory experience (structure, GPOs, health, etc).
• 3+ years of VMWare ESX administration (clustered and non‑clustered environments).
• 2+ years of network design and troubleshooting experience (DNS, routing, traffic management).
• 1+ year of information security experience.
• 1+ year of telecommunications experience.
• Solid understanding of the OSI model.
• 5+ years in a technical support role.
• Demonstrated history of exceptional customer service.
• Strong Microsoft product suite knowledge, especially Visio or similar documentation tools.
• Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding customers.

• Experience with Disaster Recovery philosophies and methodologies.
• Experience with Business Continuity philosophies and methodologies.
• 1+ year of Visual Basic Scripting experience.
• 2+ years of VDI experience.
• 2+ years of Veeam experience.
• 1+ year of RSA SecureID experience.
• 1+ year of SQL Server administration.
• 1+ year of network appliance configuration/support (storage infrastructure, caching appliances, SAN protocols).
• 1+ year of System Center or other centralized management technologies.
• 1+ year of Symantec Antivirus management.

• Ability to foster productive teamwork across a matrixed global organization.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Efficiently manage multiple, concurrent, time‑sensitive projects and priorities.
