Hospital Director of Operations | 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Veterinary Medicine | $140-170K / year | Vancouver, WA

Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center is a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital located in Vancouver, WA, just outside Portland, OR. We offer advanced veterinary technology, including MRI, CT and more, in a supportive work environment focused on wellness and mental health.

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Hospital Director of Operations (HD) to lead a large, multi‑specialty veterinary hospital. The HD will oversee the hospital’s day‑to‑day operations, ensuring the highest quality of care while driving financial and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in matrixed organizations, a passion for veterinary medicine, and a track record of building collaborative, high‑performing teams.

and Compensation
  • Typical work week will be daytime hours Monday through Friday, with flexibility as needed for 24/7 operations.
  • Salaries range from $140,000 to $170,000 based on experience and skill level.
  • Annual profit‑sharing bonus plan.
  • Relocation package available for candidates outside of the Vancouver/Portland area.

Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of senior leadership experience in veterinary hospital operations, healthcare, or retail, ideally in a multi‑specialty or matrixed setting.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams, drive strategic and operational initiatives, and foster inclusive collaboration.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated success managing hospital financials, budgeting, and full P&L accountability.
  • Experience building and scaling high‑performing teams, driving engagement, and supporting professional development with measurable improvements to financials and EBITDA.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; an advanced degree (MHA, MBA) is a plus.
