Area Operations Manager (Open) - Vancouver, WA
Pay: $110,000 /yr - $140,000 /yr + $600.00/month auto allowance.

- Provide a safe work environment and serve as a leader dedicated to the safety and health of Airgas associates.
- Implement continuous improvement efforts to enhance profitability and effectiveness of operations in the assigned area.
- Manage operations of multiple plants, supporting and guiding at least three plant managers.
- Ensure overall distribution efficiencies within the operations department.
- Coordinate with other departments to meet customer service requirements and expectations.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate accidents and near misses of assigned plants to recommend training and quality improvements.
- Ensure personnel follow safety policies, attend required safety meetings, and support safety program training.
- Develop and recommend action plans to improve production, distribution, equipment performance, product quality and customer service.
- Provide leadership and direction to all associate levels, including encouragement, performance evaluation, coaching, feedback, goal communication, and leading regular team meetings.
- Conduct individual and group training as necessary.
- Analyze operational results, program implementation progress, trends and forecasts.
- Align personal performance activities with production, distribution and customer service objectives.
- Develop expertise in new operational improvement and safety programs.
- Assist in transferring operational process improvements across the area.
- Facilitate monthly measurement reports for production and distribution.
- Support a measurement and action philosophy throughout the organization.
- Identify and develop individuals with growth potential, establishing a training program for future opportunities.
- Required: At least five years’ experience in manufacturing or distribution.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to read and comprehend safety data sheets.
- Flexible hours to meet customer and management needs.
- Ability to work with diverse personalities and backgrounds.
- Independent, results‑oriented work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Operation in a drug‑free workplace.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least three years in a management role.
- Experience handling compressed gases.
- Proficiency with personal computer applications such as Google Workspace.
- Understanding of production methods, equipment, cylinder flow, distribution effectiveness and performance statistics.
