Our VANCOUVER location is looking for Part Helpers
.
When cars are manufactured, they make an additional stop to us for accessories.
You would be reviewing work orders and placing car parts into the vehicles for our accessory installers to install.
Responsibilities- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
- Communicate with lead when additional parts are needed
- Deleting accessories on work orders due to lack of parts (as needed)
- Drive forklift to stock parts
- Follow all safety guidelines and attend safety meetings
- Keep Leads, Managers and others informed of significant issues
- Log processed work into computer program or tracking system as required
- Meet or exceed established production and quality standards
- Notify lead if the customer removed accessories for the parts are
- Open stock parts as needed
- Order and replace defective parts for installers
- Performs job in a safe manner
- Place correct accessories into the trunk/hatch of each vehicle (Read work order to verify what accessories are needed)
- Read and understand VIN numbers, repair orders, purchase orders, purge sheets, and other documents to complete work
- Recognize standard accessories for each model and add if work order is incorrect based on Customer specifications
- Utilize radio to communicate with Leads and management personnel in a professional manner
- Verify that the correct work orders have been placed in vehicles (Check VIN on work order against VIN plate located on the vehicle's dash)
- Visually verifies that vehicle is damage free
- Work as part of a team
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
- Daily cleanup
- Ensure work area is kept in a clean and orderly fashion
- Notify supervisor of any workplace hazards or unsafe conditions
- Participate in facility safety efforts by attending monthly safety meetings
- Understand policies, including but not limited to company safety policies
- Upkeep and maintenance of work area
- Work with limited supervision
- Other duties assigned by supervisor
- Ability to adhere to strict quality and production standards without variance and to communicate diplomatically
- Ability to function effectively under pressure
- Ability to interact with others effectively; work as a team; good interpersonal skills; ability to judge distances
- Ability to keep confidential any work documents or conversations
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
- Ability to obtain Forklift Operator's Certification
- Ability to operate hand truck
- Ability to pass driver's safety test at 80% or better
- Ability to read and understand SDS
- Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditions; ability to step safely up and down from forklift
- Able to drive both standard and automatic automobiles
Minimum Requirements
- 12th grade reading and writing skills; computer skills
- Follow directions, both written and verbal
- Good visual and auditory ability
- Positively represent AWC
- Strong attention to detail
- Understand Company and Customer requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Computer Skills
