Position SummaryVigor Marine Group, LLC. is recruiting for a Electrical Quality Control Inspector to join our Quality Control team in Vancouver, WA. Our fabrication teams work on complex projects to the tightest tolerances and apply unique solutions across a variety of manufacturing and engineering disciplines.
Essential Functions And Major Responsibilities- Perform drawing and work instruction examination in accordance with procedural/code requirements.
- Effectively communicate with craft employees and supervisors when there are nonconforming conditions and/or improvement opportunities and positively collaborate to form acceptable solutions that both minimize production impact and achieve complete program compliance.
- Conduct and witness electrical and system based testing procedures with production/program team members.
- Consistently survey project(s) for in‑process compliance optimization regarding ABS HSNC, IEEE
45, MIL‑STD, UL, and other contract‑specific requirements as applicable. - Work independently to established Quality Control procedures.
- Understanding of NAVSEA requirements preferred.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts that further the company values, consistency and efficiency of people and processes within the quality department.
- Demonstrated work experience with ABS HSNC, UL 508a, and other industry‑standard best practice electrical installation requirements.
- Ability to complete inspection reports with MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) in a clear and timely manner.
- Experience in a fabrication environment, preferably marine fabrication shop or fabrication site locations.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Willingness to work at other Vigor locations and travel offsite as needed.
- Required:
2‑5 years’ experience as a marine electrical quality control representative with increasing responsibilities and demonstrable success with ABS Class requirements. - Preferred: 2‑5 years UL 508a panel building experience.
- Preferred:
Documented training and experience records of previous or current marine electrical quality control methods. - Experience with working in accordance with Quality Management Systems (Preferred).
- Physical demands of this position will require the ability to maneuver in a shop or yard assembly environment.
- Periods of walking and standing, climbing on ladders, scaffolding, crouching, twisting, and stooping are often encountered. Consistent with many marine applications, areas requiring inspection may involve limited space.

- Ability to tolerate periods of testing which may include extended shifts and various locations including on the water and in the fabrication area(s).
Good interpersonal and communication skills with quality and other craft department stakeholders, as positive synergy and a collaborative production‑focused mindset is crucial to team success.
Work EnvironmentWhile in production areas, will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dusts, and odors.
