Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Direct Hire Machinist role in Vancouver, WA. Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Vertical Machining Centers, and other machining equipment to produce high‑precision parts.
- Perform full machine setups, including tooling selection, fixture alignment, and program verification.
- Run multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining tight tolerances and production efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Adjust offsets and edit CNC programs (Haas, Fanuc, Okuma, etc.) to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Calculate and set machining parameters such as speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
- Perform in‑process and final inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Complete First Article Inspections and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Document production activity, scrap, and machine performance accurately.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning machines and monitoring fluid levels.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in alignment with safety programs and P5S initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with team members across shifts to ensure operational continuity.
- Mentor and support less experienced machinists or operators as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Machine Technology certificate preferred. - 2+ years of CNC machining experience, including setup and operation.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Experience with CNC controls such as Haas, Fanuc, or Okuma.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection processes.
- Strong math skills, including decimals and fractions.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly (up to 50+ lbs occasionally) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Must be eligible to work in an ITAR‑regulated environment.
- Competitive hourly wage: $25 – $34 per hour (DOE).
