About This Position
  • Job Type: Full Time, Onsite
  • Schedule:

    Graveyard, Sun. to Thurs. 10:30pm to 7:00am
  • Wage: $19.25 to $30.00, DOE
Position Purpose

To operate the crane to support the metal processing equipment, move, unload, load, and store materials in warehouse while following all safety policies and procedures. This position is very important in ensuring that the work flows through the shop at a steady and timely pace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to assure safe, effective, and efficient work tasks.
  • Operate overhead crane to load or unload railcars, trailers, customers' vehicles, etc.
  • Keep machine operators supplied with proper steel & pull/stage for next shift.
  • Perform weekly and monthly assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Will perform clean up duties daily to maintain a safe work area.
  • Will occasionally be requested to work other positions as backup for vacation/sick coverage.
  • Will operate forklift or railcar mover occasionally.
  • Compliance with general company attendance standards is acceptable.
  • Will be working in warehouse setting with some daily exposure to weather conditions (cold, wet, hot).
  • Continuous mental and/or visual attention to work tasks is required to monitor the production process, attend to safety conditions, operate required vehicles, etc.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Warehouseman/Crane operator training or prior experience of at least 12 months.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse functions and equipment operation.
  • Reliable and be at workstation on time daily.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with others in our company and treat our employees and customers with respect, courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to read and write in English to follow written instructions and record work activities performed.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Both Overhead cranes & Bushman attachments, Company computer applications & email, forklift, railcar mover.
  • Perform routine office support, understand written and oral instruction, make mathematical calculations.
