Position Title:

Production

Reports to:

Production Manager Wage Range: $27-$33 Principal Accountabilities

  • Own the information flow for your line - communicate across functional areas, production lines, engineers, and supervisors proactively, not just when asked. Ensure cross-functional teams have what they need to meet customer expectations without chasing you for it.
  • Drive shift-to-shift continuity by maintaining clear, actionable handoff communication on daily issues, priorities, and job status - not just passing notes, but ensuring nothing falls through the gap.
  • Use quality data (FPY, defect Pareto, trend analysis) to identify problems, prioritize corrective action, and track results. Communicate quality issues with context and recommended next steps, not just raw numbers.
  • Work as required to meet production objectives - step into the work when the line needs it, without being asked.
  • Set and hold the standard for quality on your line. Reinforce expectations through coaching, real-time correction, and personal example - not just enforcement.
  • Maintain schedule discipline on the floor by building daily sequences consistent with committed priorities. Escalate conflicts between capacity and committed dates before they become misses, not after.
  • Own crew development on your line - run onboarding for new operators using the established program, identify skill gaps, coach in real time, and flag performance concerns early with specific observations.
  • Manage shop supply ordering for the area within budget guidelines and with approval from the budget manager.
  • Drive quality outcomes by connecting daily execution to broader quality goals - own the gap between where the line is and where it needs to be.
  • Keep QMS procedures and work instructions current and accurate. When the process changes, update the documentation same-week - don't let drift accumulate.
  • Ensure all machine maintenance is current and escalates overdue items before they cause downtime. Maintain awareness of machine condition as part of daily floor presence.
  • Provide timely, specific, observation-based feedback to the supervisor for performance evaluations. Document patterns, not just single events.
  • In the absence of direct supervision, maintain workflow, uphold standards, and make sound judgment calls when priorities conflict or information is incomplete. Escalate the right things, decide the rest.
  • Be the go-to resource on the floor - when someone asks a question, do the research, find the right answer, and share it with the whole area so everyone benefits, not just the person who asked.
  • Partner with CI and engineering to identify root causes, sustain countermeasures, and build repeatable processes. Treat improvement as daily work, not a side project.
  • Model and reinforce Safety, ESD, ITAR, and QMS protocols visibly and consistently. Hold others to the same standard without exception.
  • Audit Lean projects weekly for stability and sustainability. Give individuals specific, constructive feedback that encourages ownership of improvement - not just compliance checks.
