Job Summary
:
Responsible for advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers, laser radars, and electro‑optical sensors and instruments.
Location
:
Irvine, CA.
Position Type
: full‑time consultant.
Schedule: Hours from 10pm – 6:30am; initial training shift 6am‑2:30pm.
Compensation
:
Up to $30/hr base plus 20% differential depending on qualifications and experience, plus selected compensation package.
- Advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers, laser radars, and electro‑optical sensors and instruments.
- Follow written procedures or drawings developed by engineers and suggest improvements to optimize production.
- Assemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic components.
- Test each level of assembly (4‑5 processes) at the system level using laboratory instruments (e.g., interferometer, Zygo).
- Audit 1‑2 work order kits from warehouse to confirm pieces and part numbers.
- Prepare subassembly components.
- Package the final assembly daily (if assembly is completed).
- Cross training is required (trainee and/or trainer).
- 2‑4 years of related experience.
- AA Degree, Technical Certification or equivalent (preferred).
- Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience using measurement instruments (interferometer, Zygo).
- Experience entering data into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
