Maintenance & Sanitation Technician (Entry Level)
This entry-level manufacturing role focuses on cleaning large industrial machinery, managing graphite part replacement, and maintaining accurate machine clean records while following complex, detailed procedures and documentation. You will support a high-tech production environment by performing thorough equipment cleaning, sustaining 5S standards, and ensuring all tasks are completed safely, without damage, and on time. The position operates on a 12-hour day shift and requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to strict safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Clean large industrial machinery according to detailed, documented procedures and standards.
- Manage graphite part replacement, including handling, tracking, and documenting parts used.
- Review the daily machine clean list and schedule cleaning tasks to meet production and quality requirements.
- Complete all machine clean records accurately and on time, using computerized forms and systems.
- Perform daily 5S activities to maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas that meet clean room standards.
- Handle and move graphite parts weighing approximately 10–200 pounds using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Push carts weighing approximately 20–275 pounds and move an average of 4,400 pounds of material within a 12-hour period, including loading and unloading.
- Cut open, lift, and move approximately 11 pounds of polysilicon rock pieces in bags up to about 300 times during a 12-hour shift.
- Operate lift equipment to load, unload, raise, lower, and transport materials, products, and equipment.
- Use robotic equipment controls to start, stop, and command movements or actions safely and accurately.
- Perform tasks that require standing, walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, bending, crouching, and repetitive motion throughout a 12-hour shift.
- Use handling tools for heavy parts safely after completing required training.
- Work around hazardous and volatile chemicals while following all safety procedures and using appropriate PPE.
- Continuously monitor process steps to verify data, setups, and conditions meet quality and area requirements.
- Follow product specifications, Standard Work Procedures (SWPs), Response Flow Charts (RFCs), control charts, and other process documentation.
- Report and take immediate action to prevent or stop variations, errors, or lapses in quality.
- Ensure quality issues are documented, corrected, and prevented from recurring.
- Identify and communicate suggestions for process or safety improvements to supervisors or appropriate leaders.
- Input data accurately using a computer and keyboard, including completing computerized forms for graphite part replacement and cleaning records.
- Use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute percentages and decimals with a calculator.
- Understand and follow all safety regulations, including proper use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) related to the process.
- Report all on-the-job accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions immediately, and request guidance or training when needed.
- Apply Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures to ensure machinery is de-energized when required.
- Perform close visual inspections of small parts, surfaces, and equipment to identify errors, defects, or contamination.
- Prepare, read, and interpret data, instructions, procedures, manuals, reports, and correspondence in English.
- Communicate clearly with management and co-workers in English to coordinate work, report issues, and support team goals.
- Work overtime as required to cover on-call needs, vacations, absences, or other mandatory coverage.
- Maintain strong organization, time management, and prioritization to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with team members to support manufacturing operations, process capability, and overall production goals while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
