Production Operator (Etch) Vancouver, WA Job Description
The Production Operator role involves overseeing multiple automated machinery for an etching process in silicon wafer manufacturing. This position requires working in a semi-cleanroom environment, where operators must adhere to specific attire including safety glasses or goggles, gloves, hair nets, safety shoes, and scrubs. Ear plugs are optional. Operators will work 12-hour shifts, either during the day or night, following a compressed workweek schedule and may involve additional overtime.
Responsibilities- Operate automated machinery for a wafer etching process
- Wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hair net, safety shoes, and scrubs.
- Work 12-hour shifts following a compressed workweek schedule, alternating between day and night shifts.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, reaching, grasping, and using repetitive motions.
- Push, pull, and guide product and machine parts in and out of machines.
- Handle hazardous and volatile chemicals safely.
- Lift and move objects, exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally.
- Use vibrating oscillating tools for tasks like cutting through dried slurry in lapping plates.
- Cross-train into chemical etching processes, possibly requiring respirator use.
- Follow complex procedures and complete documentation accurately and on time.
- Ensure wafers are processed according to customer specifications.
- Set schedules based on customer specifications and processing times.
- Address machine or quality issues proactively and notify higher-level personnel when necessary.
- Monitor, analyze, and verify data and processes to meet quality standards.
- Operate robotic or automated equipment for loading and unloading wafers.
- Troubleshoot tool alarms and clean equipment and areas to meet manufacturing standards.
- Multi-task and monitor the movement of wafers on multiple tool sets simultaneously.
- Use calculators and software like Excel for computations and data tracking.
- Prepare, analyze, and create data, performing extensive reading and visual inspections.
- Experience in warehouse or production environments.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in quality assurance and attention to detail.
- Teamwork and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in machine operation, particularly in semiconductor processing.
- Basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior production experience is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical instructions and manuals.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.15/hr.
