Sr Manager, Manufacturing Operations

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations for multiple AE locations, ensuring production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role provides both strategic and hands‑on leadership to supervisors and production teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Success in this role requires strong people leadership, strategic thinking, and deep practical experience managing multi‑site and international manufacturing operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership:
    • Manage day‑to‑day manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are met.
    • Optimize resource utilization, including labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Quality & Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement and maintain robust quality control processes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement initiatives.
    • Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Team Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop manufacturing supervisors and staff.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership on production strategies and capacity planning.
    • Support new product introductions and scaling of operations.
  • Safety & Environment:
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Promote a safe working environment through training and audits.
Work Environment
  • Based in Vancouver, WA and requires regular onsite presence.
  • Requires international travel to Germany 4 to 6 times per year for 1 to 2 weeks stays.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and production planning tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment, electronics, or optical devices.
  • Familiarity with metrology and calibration methodology.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and cross‑functional teams.
Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Compensation

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. The range of starting pay for this role is $145,000 to $180,000 per year.
