A Machinist II produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines and manual equipment; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Using blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.

The following is a summary of the essential functions for the Machinist II position. Other Duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.

Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

Set up mills and lathes.

Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.

Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance actions; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Document actions by completing production and logs.

Other duties as assigned.
3-7 years’ experience with CNC mills and lathesCNC programming skills a plus

Experience with Fanuc controls preferred

Ability to comply with safety laws and regulations

Ability to trouble-shoot machines to ensure that parts meet print specifications

Able to read blueprints and measure with micrometers and other related measuring devices

Basic Computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Windows applications

Emphasizes personal and professional growth, keeping knowledge and skills current

Job function requires excellent vision

Must have good written and oral communication skills, and able to read and write in English.

Self-motivated and strong attention to detail, accurate and concise

High School Diploma, or GEDMust be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Able to perform basic physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50lbsMust be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
