Position: Production Operator (Part-time)

Production Operator

The primary responsibility of this position is to clean and maintain wire saw equipment throughout the production process. This role is physically demanding and involves working in an environment where contact with sludge, debris, and production residue is frequent.

Responsibilities
  • Scrape and clean wire saws using putty knives and other designated cleaning tools.
  • Remove accumulated sludge and debris from equipment and dispose of material into designated sludge barrels.
  • Move and maneuver sludge barrels throughout the Slicing Production floor, requiring the ability to safely push, pull, and position them.
  • Learn and follow established cleaning procedures and best practices.
  • Clean around critical machine components, including pulleys and bearings, while exercising care to avoid damage.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Lift 50 pounds numerous times throughout the day.
  • Operate a cart on wheels to transport materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 500 lbs.
  • Stand and sit for long periods within a 12-hour shift.
  • Operate robotic equipment to lift, unload, raise, lower, and transport materials and products.
  • Perform tasks to clean equipment and the area to meet clean room and 5S standards.
  • Follow all documented training, procedures, and processes to meet quality and cleanroom standards.
  • Report and take action to prevent or stop variations, errors, or lapses in quality.
  • Ensure quality issues are reported, corrected, and not repeated.
  • Identify and report suggestions for improvement to supervisors.
  • Operate a computer, keyboard, and monitor with proficiency.
  • Utilize software such as Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Operate a calculator and telephone effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with management and co-workers.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and a willingness to learn and be trained.
  • Work well with others as part of a team and be self-motivated to work independently when necessary.
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude for minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Essential Skills
  • Production experience is preferred.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Experience in machine operation, manufacturing, grinding, and semiconductor processing.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including software use such as Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior production experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is highly preferred.
Work Environment

This role involves working in a physically demanding and very dirty environment, where you will come into contact with sludge and debris. The position requires the ability to stand and sit for long periods during a 12-hour shift. The dress code is not specified but maintaining cleanliness and safety is a priority.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $23.00/hr.
