Job DescriptionThis position involves operating multiple automated machines to polish silicon wafers in a semi-cleanroom environment. Operators must adhere to strict safety and procedural standards while wearing specific protective clothing, including safety glasses or goggles, gloves, hair nets, safety shoes, and a uniform. The role requires working 12-hour shifts in a compressed workweek schedule, alternating between day and night shifts, with possible overtime.
Responsibilities- Follow complex procedures to polish and clean silicon wafers per customer specifications.
- Monitor automated machinery and ensure products meet quality standards using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Operate and maintain cleaning processes to remove residual materials from wafers.
- Use metrology equipment to ensure wafer flatness and defect-free surfaces.
- Input data into software systems such as Excel for tracking and process confirmation.
- Respond to and troubleshoot equipment alarms and issues.
- Perform routine cleaning of equipment and work areas.
- Comply with safety protocols and act as a safety role model.
- Ability to physically handle tasks such as bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing for long periods.
- Basic math skills including the ability to compute percentages and decimals.
- Proficiency in computer use, especially with Excel and SPC software.
- Strong communication skills in English for reading and writing technical instructions.
- Attention to detail and quality assurance capabilities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior production experience is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Teamwork and organizational skills.
- High sense of urgency.
Work in a semi-cleanroom environment with necessary protective clothing, including a hair net, safety glasses, and a company-provided uniform. The role involves working 12-hour shifts and may require overtime.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00/hr.
