Position SummaryThe Boat Lead oversees a production execution of assigned boat of the build for all in process work. The role serves as the primary point of contact between production, engineering, quality, supply chain, and program management, to ensure successful project outcomes.
Essential Functions And Major Responsibilities- Drive results across departments and trades for project hit project schedules, budgets.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, procurement, quality, and logistics to meet program objectives.
- Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Communicate project details to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Resolve technical and operational issues impacting program execution.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the program.
This position has mid-level accountability for the safe practices of the fabrication across all trades. Manage project schedules and budgets for the complete build of assigned boat. This position maintains a mid-level of decision-making authority and responsibility for end results in the specific area of responsibility.
Interpersonal ContactsThis position maintains a variety of significant relationships and must be able to determine the appropriate level of communication and interaction for various situations. The ability to effectively influence decisions through respectful interactions with others both within the company and with external contacts is essential in this role. The ability to professionally and effectively communicate in a manner that is articulate and represents the company’s values is critical.

Minimum three (3) years of managing/supervising marine fabrication. Minimum eight (8) years of experience in heavy manufacturing or heavy steel/aluminum fabrication environment. Written and verbal communication experience and speaking before groups of people. Experience working productively with multiple trades and staff.
Physical DemandsWork is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced shop with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity within the shop by or in the yard. The person will be required to be in production areas. He/she must be able to walk to and from job locations. The individual must be able to frequently climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders, enter confined areas and tanks.
The person must be able to frequently bend, twist, kneel, walk, climb and reach. He/she may be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and weekend work. There may be local travel and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Environment
While in production areas the individual will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dusts and odors.
