Hours / Work Times: 4 Hours Per Day (times to be determined); 190 Days Per Year (180 student days / 10 Holidays)
Position Duration: Permanent
Classification Group: Professional Technicians (PSE) Class V
Salary Placement: New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. Employees with verified prior years of service may receive experience credit toward step placement.
Benefits: Eligible employees who work at least 630 hours in a school year receive medical, dental, vision, basic long-term disability, basic life, and AD&D insurance through SEBB. SummaryStatement
The Procedures Nurse is delegated by school nurses and is responsible for performing clean intermittent catheterization (CIC), diabetic care for students with disabilities, administering tube feedings or suctioning when necessary, and other health‑related activities as requested by Registered Nurses. The Procedure Nurse assists in care delivery and educates students about their medical needs and travels to several sites each day.
Essential Functions- Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and medical personnel, both orally and in writing.
- Perform medical procedures as required by health care plans and R.N. or doctor's orders.
- Administer medications and tube feedings.
- Perform other health‑related activities as assigned.
- Accurately establish and maintain student health records for procedures and health plans.
- Maintain professional license and adhere to best practice standards.
- Travel from location to location to assist students with the above health issues.
- Perform emergency care, if necessary, for students on case load.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a learning environment specified by health goals and outcomes.
- Implement behavioral management strategies using techniques suggested to address problematic student behaviors impeding timely procedures.
- Handle body fluids in accordance with best practice standard precautions.
- Lift and/or position students as necessary.
- Attend training sessions as necessary to maintain up‑to‑date understanding of school policies, procedures, and laws.
- Perform first aid/CPR when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Sterile and clean catheters, feeding tubes, and all other tools and equipment needed to perform the essential functions listed above.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Washington State LPN license or RN license (current).
- Washington State requirements for HIV/AIDS education for health care providers met.
- Demonstrated ability to perform catheterization, tube feedings, and suctioning.
- Knowledge of diabetic care including insulin, pumps, carbohydrate counts, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to acquire within 45 days of employment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and medical personnel.
- Ability to travel from location to location to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
