Intensivist NP or PA, Part-time - Vancouver, WA

Peace Health is seeking an Intensivist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our collegial Critical Care team at the Peace Health Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington.

ICU/Critical Care experience as a PA or NP is preferred.

Will accept new graduates with prior ICU/CCM nursing experience.

• Join an established program of 12 ICU Physicians and 5 NPs/PAs
• Collegial, fun group with longevity of physicians and clinicians
• 12-hour shifts; some nights required
• An Intensivist physician works alongside the PA/NP onomy for your work with in-house support at all times.
• Ability to do procedures with excellent mentorship
• We only cross cover ICU patients and not the floors or ER patients
• Two 24-bed ICUs (combined MICU, CVICU, SICU)
• Three shifts per 2 weeks

Within scope of practice and in alignment with both hospital staff bylaws and PHMGs physician supervision expectations, responsible for advanced level of nursing evaluation, clinical assessment, prescribing and monitoring medications and follow‑up care for patient. Responsible for patient and family teaching.

• Effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues of the population in the practice while administering quality patient care.
• Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral.
• Gives directions to nursing and other staff.
• Prescribes medications and treatments and ongoing medication management. Orders lab and diagnostic tests when appropriate and interprets test results.
• Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
• Maintains legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals and consultations according to established standards.
• Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands‑on training and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Experience

• Minimum of one year preferred Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner experience.
