What You’ll Do
  • Assist adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives, including dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs, and redirect behaviors with appropriate activities.
  • Provide support that meets participants’ needs and offers opportunities for community integration, fostering a nurturing, safe, and healthful living environment.
  • Follow the Residential Service Guidelines issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and support each participant according to their Individual Instruction and Support Plan (IISP).
  • Ensure daily needs are met—personal hygiene, food preparation, house cleaning, shopping, monitoring health needs, and supervision of medication.
  • Assist participants in accessing community outings, including arranging or providing transportation.
  • Treat participants with dignity and consideration, promote their rights to decision‑making and free exercise of their rights.
  • Provide informal counseling and problem‑solve with participants.
  • Attend staff meetings as required by the House Manager, Site Supervisor, or Administrator.
  • Attend training required by the agency, DDA, and other parties.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the IISP for each participant.
  • Become a Nurse Assistant Registered (NAR) and complete the Nurse Delegation study course and test within 30 days of employment.
  • Provide necessary support and supervision of participants.
  • Maintain professional relationships with service providers, participants’ parents/relatives/guardians, and agency staff, completing all required documentation such as medication logs, shift notes, progress notes, data sheets, incident reports, and client financial records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the House Manager, Site Supervisor, or Administrator.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license; car employees must be willing to transport clients in their own vehicle.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum age: 18 years or older.
  • Minimum driving experience:
    Valid in‑state driver’s license and current car insurance.
  • Preferred:
    Personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and understand documents in English.
