What You'll DoAs the House Supervisor, you'll provide leadership and oversight for hospital operations during your shift while supporting caregivers, physicians, patients, and families.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership for clinical excellence, operational effectiveness, and patient-centered care
- Making rounds throughout patient care areas and providing guidance, coaching, and support to clinical staff
- Responding to codes and rapid response events while coordinating caregiver resources
- Monitoring bed capacity and patient placement needs and assisting with transfer decisions
- Collaborating with staffing coordinators, charge nurses, and department leaders to optimize staffing resources
- Investigating incidents, facilitating resolution efforts, and supporting documentation processes
- Serving as an administrative resource and decision-maker in the absence of department leadership or hospital administration
- Interpreting hospital policies and procedures and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Coordinating patient transfers to and from external facilities
- Supporting mental health hold processes while protecting patient safety and legal rights
- Collaborating with physicians, managers, caregivers, patients, families, and community partners to ensure seamless care delivery
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or ability to obtain within three years of hire or
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
Experience
- Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Leadership experience or leadership training strongly preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
