American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN with EPIC experience for a 13-week travel assignment floating between two hospital campuses.
Details- Work in the Neonatal ICU (NICU II and NICU III) of a hospital setting
- Float between two facility campuses in Washington and Oregon
- Care for neonates across a range of gestational ages, including under 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and over 34 weeks
- Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
- Attend high-risk deliveries
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Active Oregon RN license or proof of Oregon license application and fingerprinting required for consideration
- BLS and NRP (Advanced) certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of NICU experience required, 2 years preferred
- Prior Charge Nurse experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- ECMO experience highly preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience with UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter) and UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter)
- Competent in Bubble CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) respiratory support
- Experience managing respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and neonatal dosage calculations
- Skilled in developmental care, thermoregulation, phlebotomy, and infectious disease/isolation precautions
- One professional reference from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager required, preferably within the last year
- No felony convictions accepted
- Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), phototherapy, and blood glucose monitoring
- Support patient and family teaching, breastfeeding support, and handling of breast milk
- Must complete an EPIC Test-Out Module; if not passed, an 8-hour EPIC training course will be required
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application
- Local travelers are not accepted and candidates may not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Compliance documentation must be completed by the Wednesday prior to the start date
