Description Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Surgical Peace Health Southwest Medical Center | Vancouver, WA

Full-Time | 0.90 FTE | Night Shift
Pay Range: $23.03 - $34.59 per hour

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

What You'll Do

As a CNA on Surgical 8, you'll be a vital part of the patient care team, helping patients feel safe, supported, and cared for throughout their hospital stay.

You will:

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and daily hygiene.
  • Help patients safely get out of bed, walk, reposition, and participate in mobility activities.
  • Take and record vital signs and other patient information.
  • Monitor patients and promptly communicate changes in condition to the care team.
  • Assist with treatments and delegated patient care activities within CNA scope of practice.
  • Measure and document fluid intake and output.
  • Respond to call lights and provide timely support to patients and families.
  • Prepare patient rooms and maintain supplies needed for patient care.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.
  • Support a positive, compassionate, and respectful environment for patients, families, and coworkers.
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Current Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire, obtained through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team‑oriented environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient‑centered care.
  • Knowledge of age‑specific care principles to support the unique needs of each patient.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
  • Experience caring for orthopedic, trauma, surgical, or medical patients.
