Position: Research Technologist Biological Sciences (Vancouver, WA)

Job Overview

The College of Arts and Sciences at Washington State University Vancouver invites applicants for a year‑round, full‑time position as a Research Technologist1 within the School of Biological Sciences. The incumbent will support ongoing research on the genomic basis of adaptation and phenotypic variation, primarily focusing on laboratory operations and the analysis of genomic data. The role requires strong organization skills, familiarity with Drosophila biology, and background in evolutionary biology, population genetics, coding, and biostatistics.

Responsibilities

The Research Technologist will assist with ongoing experimental studies, support lab members with relevant protocols and analyses, and facilitate the generation of new experimental work.

Salary and Employment

Monthly salary: $3,417.00 to $4,542.00 (Range 38 Steps A‑M). Full‑time, permanent position (100% FTE), overtime eligible. Expected start date:
July
10,2026.

Required Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of experience as a laboratory technician, research aide, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of science or technology, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a research laboratory setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong coding skills.
  • Solid background in evolutionary biology, population genetics, and biostatistics.
