Assistant Manager responsible for all shift operations, including cost control, inventory, cash handling, staffing, customer service, and store cleanliness. Ensures adherence to company policies, standards, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients and products from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Prepare all products.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility daily.
- Use clear written and verbal instructions and communicate with customers and team.
- Perform basic math and provide accurate monetary change.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Handle bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds).
- Move and stack items up to 72 inches high.
- Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Great motor coordination and speed.
- Accurate data entry and cash handling.
- Ability to work independently, under stress, and in a team environment.
- Ability to analyze and compile data, make judgments, and decisions.
- Varying and sometimes adverse outdoor weather when removing trash and performing outside tasks.
- Indoor temperatures from 36°F to 90°F+; sudden temperature changes are possible.
- Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, fumes, and hot surfaces up to 500°F.
- Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts to navigate.
- Requires standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lb), carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs or ladders, forward bending, crouching/squatting, reaching, and eye‑hand coordination for extended periods.
- Must follow all company policies and procedures 100% of the time.
- Ability to set an example for staff in cost control, inventory control, cash control, and customer relations.
- Experience with staffing, paperwork, scheduling, marketing, and profitability improvement.
