Account Manager
Overview
Account Representative II is responsible for expanding the book of business by converting competitor accounts and expanding medium‑sized accounts to large accounts. The role fosters customer satisfaction by maintaining contact and managing expectations.
Compensation$70,000 – $96,600 plus commission. Total compensation may vary based on performance, location, skills, education, and experience.
Job Duties- Increase revenue and profitability through the generation of new business and the development of existing accounts.
- Generate new leads by networking, cold calling, and researching directories and Internet sites.
- Interact face‑to‑face with customers to foster strong relationships and maintain satisfaction.
- Understand complex customer requirements to prepare customized quotations.
- Deliver effective sales presentations and ensure technical requirements are met.
- Assist with on‑site troubleshooting of customer concerns.
- Coordinate vendor resources to build relationships and support sales.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of industrial products: power transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related industrial products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient understanding of key sales principles and best practices.
- Ability to influence customers while maintaining healthy relationships.
- Ability to take initiative and work with limited direction.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Travel required. May be on‑call nights or weekends as needed.
Licenses & CertificationsValid driver’s license required. All company vehicles are subject to continuous video monitoring.
