MECHANICAL INSULATION MECHANIC / "Working" Foreman
Fairfax Insulation, Inc. is a small, professional, and customer‑oriented commercial mechanical insulation company that has been in business for over 30 years. We specialize in mechanical pipe, duct, and equipment insulation in the commercial and light industrial sectors in the DC Metro Area (Virginia, Maryland, & D.C.). Our work takes place in hospitals, medical buildings, schools, retail stores, and many other commercial buildings.
We are seeking an experienced (5 years minimum), reliable, and motivated Mechanical Insulation Mechanic / “Working” Foreman to add to our team. Projects are located in Virginia, Maryland, and D.C.
Pay: $30/hour to start, with a project‑specific hourly rate of $58.69/hour for certain wage‑scale projects. After 3 months of proven knowledge and performance, your pay may increase by up to $4/hour, and you may receive a company truck and additional benefits.
Basic Requirements- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical insulation.
- At least 1 year supervisory experience and the ability to supervise multiple employees on different job sites.
- Must be able to obtain a REAL from your state of residence.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must possess reliable transportation (projects in VA, MD & D.C.).
- Must pass a drug screening if required by the project.
- Physical ability: lift 50‑75 lb, climb, bend/twist/squat, and work in various environments.
- Must speak English

Job Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with field employees, estimators/P.M.s, and other trades on the job site.
- Help manage the schedule for field employees.
- Prepare and manage projects: obtain on‑site take‑offs, order materials, schedule employees, motivate staff, and track job completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Work independently and as a team.
- Install, repair, and maintain insulation systems on piping, ductwork, tanks, and other mechanical equipment.
- Apply insulation using materials such as fiberglass, mineral wool, foam, and calcium silicate.
- Fabricate and install protective jacketing using metal, PVC, and canvas.
