Telecom Experienced Foreman
Robinson Brothers Construction, LLC is seeking skilled Telecom Experienced Foreman to join our traveling crew. Our contracts span the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast, encompassing the western states. We are looking for talented individuals who are enthusiastic and ready to travel to various job sites. Travel position - we prioritize local assignments that enable our team to return home each night, while remaining flexible and ready to pursue opportunities wherever the job market takes us.
The Telecom Foreman position will oversee a crew of employees depending on job type and size. This position will coordinate with the Construction Supervisor on lining out daily jobs. She/he will oversee installations, ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assess install sites, and prepare install As Builds. The Foreman will teach, and train employees assigned to their crew. This position will guarantee that all safety protocols are followed, and crew members wear proper PPE.
Services may include placing poles, anchors and guys, aerial strand and cable, direct buried pipe, trenching cable, conventional and directional boring, placing underground conduit systems, performing inside wiring, cabling, and testing and maintenance services.
Daily responsibilities include all phases of telecommunication construction including but not limited to: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment. Ensure crew is on time and performing daily tasks; plan & strategize with crew, set goals for job completions; perform daily pre-trip, JHA, and monthly safety lessons; maintain professionalism with public, customers, and crew;
obtain prints & permits for all assigned jobs from Supervisor; setup & cleanup of worksite, plan for no return trips; follow all instructions from Supervisor, maintain communication; communicate with outside vendors, traffic control & rentals; perform proper traffic control and public safety procedures; as-built and hand in completed prints; teach & train all crew members all their tasks; submit daily timecards for crew and self;
contact city officials on permits or communicate w/ Supervisor; rely job completion metrics to Supervisor and enter in tracker; problem solve & create solutions to keep crew productive; create a plan for the following day.
Monthly responsibilities include assisting in job forecasting; assisting in Work in Progress (WIP) meetings; assisting in end of month financial; participating in operations calls and meetings.
Telecommunications Foreman qualifications include willingness to travel; 3–5 years of experience in underground construction; ability to read maps, plans, and blueprints, and convey this information to others; experience operating heavy equipment; knowledge of proper operation and safety standards for heavy equipment; 1–3 years of experience operating heavy machinery, including loaders, dozers, backhoes, and excavators; traffic control maintainer certificate; ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check;
valid driver's license or eligibility and willingness to obtain the required license for the position; good driving record; basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment safely; basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment safely; effective communication skills with customers, employees, etc.; willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions;
ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly with or without assistance; class A CDL is a plus (higher wage scales apply to CDL holders); OSHA 10 certificate.
Preferred qualifications include previous construction experience, preferably in the underground industry; ability to follow directions and take initiative when needed; understanding of daily maintenance for underground equipment; ability to perform all underground procedures and duties.
