We are looking for a Junior Field Service Technician
- Devens/Groton, MA to join our growing organization!
Under the direction of the Regional Field Supervisor, this entry‑level position as a Junior Field Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, servicing and completing basic repairs on all products in the Core Health and Fitness family. These include Nautilus, Stair Master, Star Trac, Schwinn, Throwdown and Wexer. Develop and sustain customer satisfaction and loyalty through exemplary inspections, maintenance and repair of all brands.
Duties include performing basic service work, assisting with new product installations, weekly inspections of equipment for Key Accounts, and timely and accurate documentation of work performed. Instill customer confidence in Core Health and Fitness products by providing service and maintenance in parallel with friendly and knowledgeable customer support.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent;
College/Tech degree in a related field preferred;
Additional training in the commercial fitness industry or a combination of education and experience preferred. - Experience:
Minimum 1‑2 years in a customer‑facing technical support or service role;
Basic mechanical/technical problem‑solving knowledge;
Experience with standard troubleshooting and diagnostic methods for electro/mechanical equipment in the field;
Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail;
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and similar communication software;
Ability to learn Salesforce software;
Working knowledge of the fitness industry preferred. - Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record;
Successful background screening;
Ability to drive a pickup truck and small work van;
Ability to travel outside the regular service area domestically up to 25%.
- Conduct weekly inspections at a few Key Account locations and make repairs/adjustments as needed.
- Accept, schedule, and complete work orders within 48 hours.
- Inspect all equipment during specified visits to Key Accounts.
- Document all service calls from start to completion and complete Service Reports in accordance with established procedures.
- Follow testing procedures accurately.
- Service and maintain Core Health and Fitness products at customer locations in the assigned region, ensuring repairs follow company policies.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering quality and courteous support in a timely manner.
- Communicate product performance information and relay field feedback to the Director of Services.
- Understand technical documentation.
- Possess basic mechanical aptitude.
- Inspect newly installed equipment on site when necessary.
- Maintain van part stock through regular cycle counts, inventory replacement requests, and timely paperwork processing; return parts with proper documentation and use precautionary procedures to safeguard company parts and equipment.
