Job DescriptionThe Public Works Department is seeking to fill a Facilities Operations Specialist with journeyperson level experience in plumbing.
The hours for this position are normally Monday-Friday 7 a.m.
-3:30 p.m.. This position is represented by the AFSCME Local 307-CC bargaining unit and is eligible for a full benefits package.
The individual selected for this position will participate in a full range of duties related to the maintenance of City facilities (flooring, drywall, carpentry, etc.) with a focus on plumbing work.
Minimum QualificationsEquivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in plumbing.
Four years of increasingly responsible experience in journeyperson level plumbing.
Experience and training equivalent at the amounts required for a Journeyperson or Washington State license in plumbing.
Possession of First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within six months.
Possession of Class A Commercial driver's license, or ability to obtain within six months.
Possession of a valid flagging card or ability to obtain within six months.
Certificates issued by the state to operate as a plumber at a journeyperson level.
In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: positive attitude, ability to take initiative, excellent customer service skills, good verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
