About the Behavioral Case Aide Role: Fosterful's Behavioral Case Aides provide compassionate, trauma-informed support that empowers foster families to create safe, nurturing environments where youth can heal, grow, and thrive.
The Behavioral Case Aide provides direct, trauma-informed support that promotes placement stability and child wellbeing through skilled behavioral interventions and family partnership. Reporting directly to the unit Supervisor, this role works in careful collaboration with each family’s assigned Placement Support Manager to implement individualized care plans and deliver consistent, reliable services.
Success in this position is measured by improved placement outcomes, enhanced caregiver confidence, and consistent service quality. The Behavioral Case Aide’s work supports the broader goal of child wellbeing — including greater placement stability, stronger caregiver–youth relationships, and families’ ability to access the resources and skills they need for long-term success. Through direct service delivery and collaborative partnership, this role helps create conditions where vulnerable youth experience safety and stability.
Key Responsibilities 1. Trauma-Informed Direct Support Services- Provide behavioral support and protective supervision to youth in foster care of all levels, but primarily levels 3–7, ensuring health, safety, and wellbeing in current placement and community settings
- Deliver positive behavioral support through modeling prosocial behaviors, implementing de-escalation strategies, and supporting youth and caregivers in creating a positive environment to encourage behavioral wellbeing
- Assist youth in developing essential life skills including social, emotional, and practical competencies appropriate for their age and developmental stage
- Work collaboratively with foster parents to support and model appropriate supervision techniques and behavior management strategies
- Support caregivers in developing necessary skills to create a positive and supportive environment
- Support connections between youth and their caregivers, significant relationships, and cultural supports to maintain vital bonds
- Provide transportation for youth to appointments and activities, coordinated by the Placement Support Manager, maintaining accurate mileage documentation and ensuring child safety during transport
- Support implementation of resource connections and services identified by the Placement Support Manager, helping families access and utilize community supports
- Provide direct service delivery as outlined in the established Caregiver Support Plan (CSP)
- Review the CSP and collaborate with the Placement Support Manager in implementing individualized CSPs
- Maintain accurate case records, mileage, time tracking, and required documentation within established time frames. Fulfill mandatory reporting obligations in compliance with organizational standards and state contractual requirements
- Collaborate effectively with team members, caregivers, DCYF, and community partners to ensure coordinated service delivery
- Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, training events, and professional development activities to maintain and enhance skills
- Per Fosterful’s policy and procedure, confirm service delivery with the caregiver prior to the case aide service
- Maintain availability during scheduled shifts, provide coverage when asked, and proactively communicate conflicting scheduling needs to ensure consistent service delivery
- Attend and support one Fosterful or community engagement event per quarter and communicate with supervisor when there is a service scheduling conflict
