Summary StatementUnder the general supervision of the Manager, the Delivery person is responsible for performing pick‑up and delivery services for the Evergreen School District in a timely and courteous manner, consistent with safe driving practices. The District encompasses approximately 54 square miles.
Essential Functions- Perform pick‑up and delivery services for the Evergreen School District.
- Perform inspections of vehicles to ensure safe operation.
- Check vehicle for proper levels of oil and water, and tire air pressure.
- Keep vehicle clean, both inside and outside.
- Load, deliver, and unload materials between District and supplier locations as required in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.
- Pick up and deliver in accordance with established procedures, ensuring delivery orders are signed by proper authority, recording all discrepancies or damage, and utilizing safe driving practices.
- Produce reports to the Manager as requested.
- Maintain accurate inventory of loaned goods from Central Receiving and Distribution and other departments' stored goods.
- Assist with inventory, supply requests, and surplus sale as requested.
- Direct the work of helpers when assigned.
- Assist in Central Receiving and Distribution as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Tools and Equipment NecessaryVarious trucks, forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, vehicle washing and maintenance equipment, manually operated tools, communication equipment (radios, telephones), and all other tools and equipment necessary to perform the essential functions.
Minimum Qualifications- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and the general public.
- One year of experience and/or training in pick‑up and delivery.
- Ability to operate the tools and equipment listed.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to count, add, and subtract accurately.
- Ability to perform vehicle safety inspection and maintenance.
- Physical strength to load, move, and unload merchandise up to 300 lbs. using manual or mechanized equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain records.
- Ability to read and interpret road and school site maps.
- Ability to delegate tasks when required.
- Valid driver’s license and current driving abstract.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
