Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role is well suited for someone with a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and experience leading day-to-day accounting operations in a multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing hands‑on accounting work with team leadership, process improvement, and communication across departments. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close activities, and helping ensure compliance with applicable accounting and reporting standards.

• Supervise and support junior accounting team members to help ensure departmental goals are met.
• Oversee payroll and accounts payable activities for accuracy and compliance.
• Review and monitor accounting transactions across multiple entities.
• Prepare and analyze asset, liability, and capital account activity.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in coordination with internal teams.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliation efforts.
• Perform bank reconciliations and help maintain accurate cash flow reporting.
• Ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, and legal requirements.
• Review transactions and supporting documents for audit readiness and internal controls.
• Research accounting policies and procedures to respond to questions and provide guidance.
• Prepare and review balance sheet and profit‑and‑loss information, including variance analysis.
• Recommend process improvements to strengthen accounting systems and workflows.
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients.

• Several years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Experience in public school accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and its practical application.
• Experience with multi‑entity financial operations.
• Proficiency with Quick Books or similar accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with reporting tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Experience mentoring or coaching junior staff is highly valued.
