Salary: $75,000 - $85,000

A growing, family‑owned manufacturing organization in Dayton is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This is a newly created role designed to support the Accounting Manager by taking on core accounting responsibilities to support higher‑level initiatives. You’ll support accounting operations for two related entities, taking ownership of key functions including:

• Manage core general ledger functions, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting month‑end close activities.
• Prepare and assist with financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting across both entities.
• Support cost accounting processes, including analysis, reporting, and collaboration with operations to ensure accurate product costing.
• Oversee fixed assets and CIP, including tracking, capitalization, depreciation, and project‑related accounting.
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and take on additional responsibilities to free up the Accounting Manager for higher‑level strategic work.

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred (strong experience considered in lieu of degree)
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUPs)
  General ledger experience
• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred — nearly essential for success

• Cost accounting experience
• ERP system experience
