Military Fellowship Program
SNC’s Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as Skill Bridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on‑the‑job industry training for eligible service members.
Job OverviewAs an A/P Mechanic, you will assist with the repair, replacement, and maintenance of key components of aircraft. You will support mechanical and functional checks, including testing and replacement of defective parts, using a variety of tools and equipment for diagnosis. Repairs and maintenance will comply with national and international standards while maintaining safety and cleanliness of the hanger or workshop.
You will demonstrate knowledge in one of the three main components of aviation maintenance: airframe maintenance, power plant mechanics, or A/P components.
Provide maintenance and repair support for aircraft components, conduct inspections and tests, document work performed, ensure compliance with FAA and safety standards, and work collaboratively with team members in the ISR, Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area.
Qualifications – Must Have- Currently serving as active‑duty military and eligible for the DoD Skill Bridge program
- High‑school diploma or GED equivalent (a higher‑level degree may substitute for experience)
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Pass written, oral and practical assessments
- Active, current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior violations
- Reliable transportation to and from work locations
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Familiarity with applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
- FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience
- Ability to travel regularly and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. Military
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance, if required
