Test Engineer, Systems Engineer, Quality Engineering
As a Test Engineer III, you will lead the development and execution of comprehensive test plans for advanced aerospace and defense systems. This role requires in-depth expertise in testing methodologies and the ability to manage multiple test projects simultaneously, ensuring product compliance and performance. Role involves extensive system testing covering communication, computing, navigation, and surveillance systems. No software or automation testing knowledge required.
Responsibilities- Lead development and execution of comprehensive test plans and procedures.
- Oversee system-, sub‑system-, and component‑level testing including functional, performance, and environmental tests.
- Perform detailed analysis of test data, identify root causes, and provide actionable recommendations in comprehensive test reports.
- Identify, document, troubleshoot, and facilitate resolution of issues and anomalies.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to define test requirements and strategies.
- Ensure test processes and equipment meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Generate content and lead internal/external meetings and briefs.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Ability to work in an office, lab, hangar, or off‑site environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in test engineering or related role.
- Advanced understanding of test and evaluation principles and methodologies.
- Proven knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.
- Knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration.
- Experience with planning, conducting and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities.
- Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies to include manual and automated testing.
- Ability to prepare complex and professional test plans, test procedures, and test reports to demonstrate compliance to system requirements.
- Familiarity with Product and Quality Assurance principles and experience in generation and disposition of product non‑conformances.
- Experience performing certification testing for organizations such as FAA, NASA, DoD.
- Experience conducting testing per MIL-STD‑810, DO-160, or similar industry methods and standards.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
- Knowledge of safety risk management, risk mitigations, and industry standards.
