Position Summary
As the Manager, Product Lifecycle for Energizer's Global Autocare business, you will be responsible for leading the New Product Development (Advanced Manufacturing) initiatives, supporting capital project execution, performing comprehensive cost engineering activities, and ensuring business case variance is actioned. This position provides technical expertise, develops cost estimates, supports budgeting, and ensures strong project governance while collaborating across departments to enhance plant performance and profitability.
The role serves as a critical liaison between Operations (the customer) and R&D/marketing to ensure design for manufacturability. Success in this role requires influencing and convincing across functions, and an ability to guide strategic decisions that improve manufacturing costs while meeting the needs of the business.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership by setting clear technical directions, ensuring strong project planning, and upholding Energizer's standards for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
* Influence and guide cross-functional teams-including engineering, R&D, marketing, operations, maintenance, and corporate partners-to ensure alignment on project objectives and plant priorities.
* Develop and maintain detailed plans, procedures, and technical documentation to support NPD technology initiatives.
* Lead technical studies, engineering evaluations, testing, and quality assurance activities to verify performance and drive process reliability.
* Coordinate capital and plant project activities from planning through execution, including reviewing proposals, defining objectives, developing schedules, and managing contractor engagement.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and project scope.
* Perform cost‑benefit analyses, financial modeling, and scenario evaluations to support capital justification and strategic decision-making.
* Monitor project budgets, evaluate variances, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions and mitigation strategies.
* Develop and deliver clear financial, technical, and project performance reports for the Plant Manager and other Senior stakeholders.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency, and optimization across plant systems and processes.
* Communicate engineering, cost, and project impacts effectively across all internal teams, ensuring clarity and shared understanding.
* Lead plant annual Cost Road Map planning and activities to identify product cost reduction activities.
* Develop and lead plant NPD costing review to identify actions needed to adhere actual verse quoted.
What we are looking for
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field required
* Minimum of 6 years of technical experience in manufacturing, capital projects, or cost engineering environments.
* Demonstrated ability to lead without direct authority, influence cross‑functional teams, and drive project alignment across stakeholders.
* Strong experience in cost estimation, budgeting, financial modeling, and cost‑benefit analysis.
* Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess technical and financial risks.
* Experience supporting capital planning, project justification, and long‑term strategic decision‑making.
* Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards including NEC, OSHA, and LOTO requirements.
* Familiarity with Six Sigma, OEE, TPM, and reliability engineering practices.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with SAP and engineering design tools preferred.
