Electrical Engineer
DPP is seeking an Electrical Engineer for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
Work location:
Onsite in Vandalia, Ohio Duration: 12 months; W2 position Work authorization:
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a US security clearance.
Position summary:
The Electrical Engineer will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. You will serve as an instrumentation specialist responsible for designing and integrating with aircraft systems, mechanical or electrical, as needed to support the collection of data for FAA/MIL certification requirements. You will maintain NIST standards for calibration and verification of the measurements, documenting and controlling all calibrations, and supporting all hardware/software requirements both for the data acquisition systems and the IADS real-time display.
Required skills:
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Hands-on experience with aircraft instrumentation systems
- Experience with flight testing sensor designs, specifications, and installations, including strain gauges, accelerometers, etc.
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred:
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes
- Familiarity with telemetry systems
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as 1553, ARINC 429. CAN Bus, and Ethernet
- Familiarity with Curtiss Wright hardware and software IADS
Education/experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
Work environment:
- Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:
Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs. - Working Conditions:
Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.) Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials. Rarely exposed to loud noises.
US Citizen:
This role requires the ability to obtain a Secret US security clearance, which requires a thorough background search and US citizenship. Residency requirements may apply.
