SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with Skill Bridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide up to six months of on‑the‑job industry training for active‑duty service members. Fellows gain valuable experience in the civilian sector, build professional networks, and prepare for transition to full‑time civilian work. This fellowship targets the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area – a leading prime integrator of manned and unmanned aircraft systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical/electronic systems and, in some applications, circuit card assemblies.
  • Implement electrical wiring design practices.
  • Conduct testing and validation of electronic systems and components.
  • Perform troubleshooting and debugging of electronic circuits.
  • Develop and document technical designs, test plans, and results.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure product requirements are met.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical insights.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Qualifications
  • Currently serving on active duty and eligible to participate in the DoD Skill Bridge program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role (or a higher degree may substitute for experience).
  • Proficiency in electrical/electronic circuit design and testing techniques.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer‑Aided Engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications.
  • Understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards.
  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.
  • Exposure to FAA electrical system regulations, including EWIS requirements.
  • Exposure to electrical/electronic FMEA and SSA concepts.
  • Understanding of Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).
  • Experience with circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of electrical component selection and manufacturing.
  • Understanding of EME, EMC, and EMI.
  • Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture.
  • Understanding of printed circuit board layout processes and tools.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Travel as required.
  • Work in an office or hybrid environment.
  • Precision in designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems and components.
  • Analyze complex systems and evaluate performance data to identify and improve designs.
  • Apply systematic and logical problem‑solving techniques to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Understand technical documents, schematics, and electronic instrument measurements.
  • Handle small components, tools, and equipment with precision.
