Overview
SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with Skill Bridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide up to six months of on‑the‑job industry training for service members transitioning to civilian roles.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Structural Technician, you will assist with assembling and/or creating major assembly structures and performing minor part‑fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burre, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming. You will help to align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures, and measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
EligibilityCurrently serving on active duty to be eligible for the DoD Skill Bridge program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military.
Qualifications – Required- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Familiarity with applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
- Exposure to structure assembly and minor part fitting techniques.
- Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi locks.
- Basic understanding of repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA or U.S. Military.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
