Job Title: Mass Properties Engineer
Location: Vandalia, OH 45377
Pay Rate: $42.77 per hour
As a Mass Properties Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, performance, and safety of advanced aerospace systems. From calculating weight and balance characteristics to supporting aircraft testing and validation, your work will directly influence the development of next-generation aircraft, mission systems, and aerospace technologies throughout the product lifecycle.
You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver precise mass properties data that drives engineering decisions and supports successful program execution.
What You'll Do Mass Properties Analysis & ModelingPerform detailed mass properties calculations and analyses for aerospace components, systems, and aircraft.
Develop, maintain, and update mass properties models and databases.
Evaluate weight, balance, center of gravity, and inertia characteristics to support engineering design and performance goals.
Conduct and support mass properties testing and validation activities.
Inventory and weigh aircraft to ensure accurate data collection.
Generate and maintain aircraft weight and balance documentation.
Verify data accuracy and ensure compliance with engineering standards and program requirements.
Partner with design, engineering, and analysis teams to integrate mass properties data into development activities.
Support design reviews, product development efforts, and technical problem-solving initiatives.
Contribute to product development decisions by providing accurate engineering analysis and recommendations.
Apply engineering principles and aerospace fundamentals throughout the development process.
Assist in the design, development, testing, certification, deployment, and support of advanced aerospace products and systems.
Support continuous improvement efforts and engineering best practices.
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 2+ years of relevant engineering experience .
Advanced degree may be considered in lieu of some experience requirements.
Experience with:
Mass Properties Calculations
Mass Properties Analysis
Mass Properties Modeling
Mass Properties Testing
Aircraft Inventory Activities
Aircraft Weight & Balance Documentation
Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Experience working within multidisciplinary design and development teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
Experience using advanced mass properties analysis software and tools.
Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
Knowledge of aerospace engineering principles, including:
Parametric Design
Model-Based Definition (MBD)
Fundamentals of Flight Mechanics
Aerospace and Defense industry experience.
Familiarity with U.S. Department of Defense programs.
Military aerospace or U.S. Military experience.

Pay Details: $42.77 per hour
