The Business Banking Specialist will be responsible for managing a designated group of member centers with a focus on opening business accounts, closing small business loans, and providing consultative services to business members. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage relationships, make referrals, and deliver exceptional service to our business members. Proactively engaging non-members to choose the Credit Union as their primary financial services provider and building business member relationships is also key.
- Open and manage business accounts, ensuring all required documentation is accurately completed with minimal errors, and that accounts are set up in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. (35%)
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with business members, becoming a trusted advisor and point of contact for their financial needs. (20%)
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and referrals to other departments, such as merchant services, treasury management, or other specialized business services. (15%)
- Work closely with other departments, including lending, operations, and treasury management, to ensure a seamless experience for business members. (10%)
- Provide consultative support to business members, understanding their financial needs, and offering solutions that align with their business goals. (10%)
- Facilitate the closing of small business loans, working closely with the operations team to ensure timely and accurate processing. (5%)
- Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated. (5%)
- High school diploma or equivalent is required or equivalent or ten (10) years equivalent work experience.
- A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
- 2 - 3 years of successful relationship building experience and a track record of effectively cross servicing products in a financial services setting.
- At least 2 years' experience in business account opening.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
