Quality Assurance Manager

White Castle offers a quality assurance leadership role that involves overseeing product quality, food safety and sanitation across production facilities. The Manager will monitor raw materials, finished products, and manage the quality control program, ensuring compliance with White Castle System, USDA and FDA standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, biology, microbiology or a related field with general knowledge of statistical process control, bacterial control and sanitation methods is required.
• At least five to seven years of experience in production methods and root cause analysis preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SQF, FDA and USDA regulations, HACCP, SOPs and GMPs.
• Self‑starter able to shift priorities and anticipate operational requirements.
• Functional knowledge of lab equipment including electronic scales, temperature probes, high‑pressure washers, temperature recorders and bioluminescence systems.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong employee relations, verbal communication and teamwork skills with the ability to give and receive direction and follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to stay focused and complete multiple tasks independently with little supervision within established time frames.
• Effective communication skills to relay the company’s agenda on quality, food safety and team‑member morale.
• Excellent leadership and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to successfully complete on‑the‑job training.

• Select, supervise, train and guide the quality and sanitation departments.
• Oversee performance management for team members of the quality and sanitation departments.
• Coordinate, develop and supervise policies and procedures related to food safety and quality, including GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs and SQF; lead the HACCP team.
• Perform pre‑operational and operational facility inspections to identify problems and offer practical solutions.
• Conduct raw‑material and finished‑product inspections and analyses, and train quality team members to perform these functions.
• Maintain and procure inventory of quality, sanitation, safety and production supplies.
• Prepare and file inspection reports.
• Purchase quality, production, sanitation, GMP, safety and pest control supplies.
• Comply with incident‑reporting policies and procedures.
• Adhere to plant security and safety policies.
• Communicate effectively with customers and all organizational levels in a professional manner, displaying a positive demeanor and responsiveness to team needs.
• Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays to meet plant requirements.

• Work in an environment with occasional exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, smoke, cleaners and other elements.
• Wear safety gear including safety glasses and other supplied safety equipment.
• Stand, sit and walk frequently.
• Push, pull, and lift up to 75 lbs (with or without assistance).
• Listen, comprehend and respond professionally to co‑worker inquiries, comments and concerns.
