Job Summary:
The Operations Supervisor is a shop floor leader for the growing Axogen Processing Center Operation. The scope includes a varying level of direct reports of several different job titles. Key accountabilities include day‑to‑day management of the shop floor personnel, executing the production schedule, ensuring all product is produced in a manner meeting safety and quality requirements and hiring and retaining a talented workforce.
Qualifications& Requirements
- Available to work 3rd shift (11 pm – 7:30 am, Sunday night through Friday morning).
- High School Diploma required, with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA‑regulated industry preferred).
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Experience in leadership, coaching, leading, and managing teams and individuals.
- Aptitude for understanding process technology, manufacturing equipment, and packaging equipment.
- Flexible and responsive to constantly changing conditions, priorities, situations, and personnel.
- Highly motivated self‑starter, capable of identifying tasks and seeing them through to successful outcomes.
- Interpersonal, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills for interacting effectively at all organization levels.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Leadership, documentation, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems.
- Experience with GMP, tissue processing, cleaning and sterilization, and/or distribution is a plus.
- Experience with continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or DMAIC.
- Supervise employees and contractors engaged in production and support functions related to a tissue biologic product in compliance with cGMP and all regulatory requirements.
- Lead the work team, managing day‑to‑day operations, ensuring safety guidelines and policies are followed and production schedules are met.
- Communicate new or revised policies, procedures, and processes to shift leads and personnel.
- Resolve problems at the lowest level possible, establishing effective communication across all tiers.
- Assess and record individual and team training, working with Senior Supervisor or Manager to address gaps and maintain compliance.
- Assist with hiring, transfer, promotion, discharge, discipline, and delegation of assignments with Human Resources.
- Identify practices that are ineffective, recommend improvements, and support resolution.
- Conduct one‑on‑one meetings with direct reports to provide coaching, development, and corrective action.
- Ensure each team member feels ownership and that their work is valued and meaningful to the Center and company.
- Cover call schedule, including holidays, as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Shift differential and annual bonus eligibility. Salary Range$69,000 – $82,000 USD
