Job Responsibilities- Technical Center Resident Industrial Engineer supporting North American manufacturing sites
- Estimate labor, assembly fixtures cost, material movement cost and material presentation costs
- Lead manufacturing system design workshops and document savings or improvements from the workshop
- Design, quote and build assembly equipment, material movement and material presentation for production
- Install assembly fixtures, material movement carts and material presentation at or below the award of business pricing
- Develop lean layouts and material flow for efficient operations. Develop operator instructions for assigned programs
- Train production employees for start‑up and ramp‑up
- Support the assigned PDT to drive lean processes
- Conduct ergonomic assessments of the manufacturing process including material movement
- Support North American plants in their cost savings projects
- Business travel mandatory to support North American sites
- 45-50% launch travel
- 5-20% non‑launch travel
Required Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Proven track record of leadership capabilities to conduct workshops and drive lean manufacturing
- Works effectively in a team environment
- Excellent problem‑solving skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Strong degree of self‑motivation and self‑direction
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding situation
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Work experience in automotive industry or industrial/manufacturing engineering
- Experience in manufacturing processes and equipment
- Operations experience
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking (not required but a plus)
