- Ensure and reinforce the exercise of the health and safety program.
- Oversee daily production, support engineers to ensure machines run efficiently, and maximize profits.
- Develop production schedules; plan, direct, and assign duties of manufacturing personnel; authorize overtime as necessary to meet production goals.
- Analyze and interpret data received daily and prepare management and financial reports; inventories to the production floor when issues are detected in real time; manage production issues; prepare production figures for daily meetings; compile month‑end reports.
- Troubleshoot and solve production problems; manage production issues; be in charge of issues that are being solved and tracked; report crucial process problems to the Plant Manager and Directors.
- Manage the Production Department:
- Organize and conduct meetings with supervisors regularly.
- Recruit new employees with HR.
- Ensure efficient shift hand‑over and feedback of past shift performance.
- Prepare shift schedules.
- Perform disciplinary actions.
- Oversee all production training.
- Provide a continuous feedback culture with all production team members.
- Perform annual performance evaluation.
- Hold monthly meetings with the OPEX team.
- Know how level/trainings.
- Overall understanding of various ALPLA IT/MES systems.
- Assess training needs of staff and ensure execution of training (equipment, product, processes, and IT/MES systems).
- Ensure all employees follow procedures.
- Revise existing procedures and implement new ones.
- Minimum 2‑year degree (associate) in a related field or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Technical / engineering background.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a management position in production, preferably within the plastics industry.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Technical understanding of manufacturing and IT.
- Strong knowledge sharing and training skills.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
It is required to act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by adhering to all ALPLA policies, procedures, and Safety Standards (OSHA).
