Plant Manager – Vandalia, Ohio
International chemical manufacturer seeks a Plant Manager to oversee direct and indirect reports in a specialty facility. The role focuses on inspiring staff, meeting targets, and continuous improvement.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership and Goal Achievement: Lead the Site Leadership Team, set, communicate, and track specific, measurable goals (KPIs) for the site, drive accountability, and report progress.
Financial Stewardship and Operational Excellence: Oversee financial objectives and budgets, implement IT and control systems, analyze operations for cost savings, and report progress.
Compliance, Quality, and EHS Management: Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, ISO standards, manage EHS systems, conduct hazard assessments, audits, incident investigations, training, documentation, and emergency plans.
Departmental Leadership and Staff Development: Lead key departments (Administration, Quality, Production, Maintenance, EHS), ensure projects are completed efficiently, foster positive workplace, and encourage staff development.
General Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support overall site operations.
Candidate should spend up to 10-15% of time on the manufacturing floor, take ownership, lead by example, coach staff, and drive operations.
Must thrive in fast-paced, pressured environments and solve problems.
Experience with plant turnaround excellent.
Ability to hold others accountable is critical.
Bachelor's degree, ideally in engineering, operations, chemistry or supply chain.
At least two years of similar manufacturing operations management experience.
Experience supervising in blending/mixing manufacturing (chemical, pharmaceutical, coating, food, beverage).
Experience overseeing multiple facets of manufacturing (production, maintenance, engineering, quality).
Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports.
Non-union operations management experience.
Working knowledge of P&L.
ERP experience.
Strong Microsoft Office, Excel skills.
SAP experience.
Experience in turnaround situations.
Power BI experience.
Master's degree.
