ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Measurement of parts using various fixtures, gages and scales, and documenting findings and results on appropriate inspection reports.
• Watch and communicate trending data from part inspection to identify process changes over time.
• Establish and maintain master part database.
• Visually inspect parts based on master samples.
• Store startup and last shot samples produced from production processes.
• Creates and maintains sample part to include acceptable parts and known deviations.
• Works with all departments to interpret specifications and quality standards to meet all customer requirements
• Perform analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods, in a timely manner, to verify conformance to or prescribe appropriate adjustment to product so they meet specifications that have been agreed upon by Company and their customers or suppliers.
• Ensure the suitability of laboratory equipment through proper operation, maintenance, calibration, verification and good quality control and assessment activities.
• Assists in ensuring the equipment and lab remains clean and organized.
• Works effectively in a team-based environment.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. Six months to one year related experience and /or training in a quality lab or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
• Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
• Control Precision - The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
• Multilimbed Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
• Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
• Rate Control - The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene.
• Reaction Time - The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
• Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
• Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
• Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material - Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• Work Environment – Work environment is usually loud.
• Tools and Equipment – Scanner, company issued knives / cutters, electric and hand pallet jacks, mechanical hand tools.
