As a Security Officer, you are part of an elite team that secures some of our most vital assets. You will be trained in enhanced security procedures and exposed to cutting‑edge technology. You will be at the tip of the spear when it comes to the advanced security solutions we provide our clients every day.

As an unarmed security officer, you will be part of a highly trained security team that supports critical facilities and infrastructure, public venues that require an enhanced presence and personal protective services. You’ll be trained by our team of highly qualified firearms instructors in safe weapons handling and marksmanship.

Position Summary:

• Remains alert and vigilant, observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned General Motors site, function or executive residence, providing for the security and safety of General Motors personnel.
• Maintains focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment to preserve the professional ability to identify and locate potentially life‑threatening situations and make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations. Must be able to operate in any stressful environments including noise from alarms, machinery and people; crowd distractions; time pressure, etc.
• Engages in continuous development of critical thinking skills necessary to mitigate actual and potential threats by identifying, evaluating and applying appropriate situational options and approaches. This may include application of risk‑based security assessments.
• Retains and implements knowledge of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Demonstrates responsible and dependable behavior, is open to change and adapts to new information or unexpected obstacles.
• Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
• Assures compliance with applicable sections of General Motors Global Security Manual, as well as the supplier Standard Operating Procedures and Policy manual.
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors and premises.
